Pixel photos taken in camera not showing in photos app 1 Recommended Answer 19 Replies 450 Upvotes

Whenever I take a picture in the camera, I can see the image take and it appears in the preview icon in the bottom right, but when I tap on the icon and it opens in the Photos app, I cannot find any traces of my images anywhere. However, if I go to Messages or Files, the images appear and I can open and send them.

I have cleared my Camera and Photos app caches and restarted the phone. Any other suggestions?

more than likely this is happened because you have checked the box enabling Google photos to remove any photographs that have already been sync to the cloud your photos are still there on the phone if you access them through the files application or use a different gallery you should be able to see recently taken photographs in the meantime if you are still having this issue I believe the solution that work for me was going to the Google photos application and granting it all permissions also I believe I cleared the cache and rebooted the phone lastly if you have just recently selected to enable smart storage let it run overnight so it has a chance to resync but for me the best thing to do was granting Google photos all permissions after doing a fresh reinstall this happen to me on my old pixel 2 XL
