Pixel 6 Pro Video files are .TS.mp4

A few months back, the video files on my phone started saving as .TS.mp4.

I already went into advanced settings on the phone and turned off "Store Videos Efficiently" - no change.

this is an issue because my video editing software (Vegas Pro 16) doesn't work well with these files.  figured a way to convert them, but that's not ideal.

What settings are keeping these files to continue to save as .TS.mp4?

As stated by Scott B, Top Shot is the reason for the TS extension. This feature marks the best frame of a video to be exported as a single photo. This is enabled by default when taking a video at 30FPS, but can be disabled.

However, Top Shot is not enabled at 60FPS, 120FPS, or 240FPS. You can either take videos at these frame rates or disable Top Shot to save as a standard MP4.

I tried a factory reset - and it fixed the problem. Clearly not ideal.. but, for those that experience the same thing.. looks like that would work.

Not sure if it will go back at some point - so I'll monitor.

I have the same problem with the .ts.mp4. When they back up to google photos, they don't load quickly enough to stream and playback very choppy. Unwatchable. They play fine if I download them though so Photos is having trouble. This started at the beginning of August for me. Look forward to a solution.

Top shot maybe?
You can switch that off while in the camera menu.
