Pixel 2 contacts colors

Today my phone made a change without me deciding about it. Colours and font in contacts, favourites, dialer and when making a call have changed. They used to be in blue theme. When calling screen was kind of blue with my wallpaper visible just under it. Also contacts had all the same colours. Now dialer for example is all white. Contact became horrible as every single one is a different colour. same for favourites it's all white theme with random colours of contacts. Font is also different. I hate it. It is horrible and I cant find a way to change it back to more uniform blue theme. Not having option to change those colours originally to black for example - like everything else on "device theme" where you can set white, black or auto) is bad anyways but now with all horribly colorful it's just a nightmare. Please somebody tell me how to revert back to blue looking theme in contacts, favourites, dialer on while calling. Just as it was before or I'll go nuts.
Thanks in advance. Best wishes. Theriion

Sound like you got the new version of Phone Dialer and Contacts with Material Design 2.0

Alright, so how the heck do you fix it? I have the same problem and it's ugly as sin!

You don't (unless you have a backup of the old version, in which case you could install that).

In the Phone app choose the three dot menu -> Help & feedback and send Google your feedback - that's the best way to voice your displeasure with the current UI.

Well. Just like with everything else then. No one knows how many people have to report that they are not happy for Google to actually take action and no one knows how many people already did this. It's frustrating that more and more things are being made worse instead of improving with every new os rolling out. By this point user should be able to customise EVERYTHING on the phone. That's why people are choosing android over iPhone so that they can easily change things they way they like it and not stuck with one way that's forced into for everyone. Shame on Google. why on earth you change the looks of UI for Cady crush saga lol. I'm so bloody angry now...

This happened to me as well. Don't know how I got an update?! I don't like these colors at all and which I could change them.

I highly doubt they would change this as it meets exactly the Material Design 2.0 standards

Well, that's a design change and as Scott mentioned, it meets the Material 2.0 standard. Not all people have the same taste in design, so while you might hate it and think it's horrible, others might like it and think it's awesome. No matter how Google change the design, some will like it, others will hate it, that's why they won't change it just because some hate it. And they definitely won't give you the option to select between the old theme and the new theme, no one will waste there time to add multiple theme support to a Phone app. Maybe they will add a dark/light theme in the future, but now one knows.

I for one like the new font, but I don't like the new all white call screen, yes I prefer the blue one. But do I complain about it? No, I live with it and will get used to it eventually until Google update the design again which I might or might not like.

You just have to live with the change and believe that it meets a modern design standard that is always evolving.

Hi Therlion. Please leave your comments as feedback from within the 'phone app, If sufficient numbers of dissatisfied users do similar then perhaps there will be a change of heart somewhere along the line.

I suspect that many users will grumble about the changes (I liked the blue too) but will do nothing about it as, in the scheme of things, we don't find it that important.

Per Gregory Repucci's suggestion, I just sent Google my feedback as well (In the Phone app choose the three dot menu -> Help & feedback). I'm fine with the font and contacts page but do want the option to revert back to the old dial page which shows my wallpaper with a thin film of translucent color over it.

The same thing happened to me yesterday around noon! And I also hate it, those pastels colors are not working for me, it seems that like the design isn't finished, or like it's in some safe mode or something. It's fine they want to add a different theme but first, it should notify the user of the change, and second, it should give the option to put the old theme back...ugghhh
Update:
I also left my feedback in the app option

You're probably right. I certainly do not condone name calling but, being a public forum, I have to assume that any number of people who stumble across this thread could benefit from the advice or suggestions we provide.
