Bluetooth turning off (being disabled) automatically

Hey All,

We have been hearing a few reports from Pixel users on the latest February security build (NOF26V/NOF26W) that are experiencing issues with bluetooth becoming disabled at random times. For those of you experiencing this, can you post your specific situation here. Are there any patterns for when you experience this? Is it only after using a specific app? When you go into Bluetooth through settings, is it disabled completely? I may be reaching out to a few of you privately to collect bug reports as well.

Thanks!

Update Apr 4 - There were a number of bluetooth improvements that were included in 7.1.2. This started rolling out through an over-the-air update a few days ago, and will continue for the next week or so. For those of you that have received the 7.1.2 OTA, please let us know about your experiences here.

Hello! Having the issue with bluetooth disabling itself. No pattern found right now. Usually, I find out that bluetooth is disable when I'm in my car and trying to do a phone call, but no phone paired! I'm not sure if it started with the latest security build... maybe earlier. If I go into Bluetooth Settings, it is completely disabled. I need to slide the toggle to re-enable it. Any way to monitor the bluetooth setting? any log? Thanks!

I started having this issue after the February update (NOF26V). It seems like it might be related to phone inactivity. It has been consistently disabled each morning (after charging all night), and only a few times throughout the day. My Huawei watch is always in range. Each time it has happened, I can simply turn bluetooth back on and it works.

For what it's worth, I've had an issue with significantly delayed text message notifications on my 2016 UConnect system (Dodge Durango) since I got the phone in November. This update did not fix or improve that issue.

I've noticed this happening after seemingly long periods of Bluetooth inactivity. Specifically I notice it has happened when I get into my car in the morning and the phone obviously doesn't connect to the car's Bluetooth. It has probably happened approximately 7 times since the February security update. I have submitted device feedback with system logs recently, but I will do so again if it's experienced in the future immediately after the occurrence.

I've also had the issue with my bluetooth randomly turning off since the February update. I haven't paid much attention but I will now, I typically notice when my Moto360 stops alerting me to messages or I don't see the connection on my car. I'll keep an eye out, but I know it has happened in the morning before.

Can you please address the microphone issue that many Pixel users are suddenly having? Thanks.

It seems to happen once per day it disables itself, like if I turned it off in the settings.

What's odd is even after reenabling it, it refuses to reconnect to my car. My car reports it's not connected to bluetooth but the phone says it's connected, but no audio will stream to the car.

I'm forced to turn off the phone and turn it back on again before I can reconnect.

About this topic: My phone's bluetooth also disables itself randomly and it also forgets trusted devices. This is especially dangerous while driving and trying to receive a call. Sometimes, my phone's bluetooth will disable mid-call in the car. No patterns noticed but it does happen everyday.

This is happening to me roughly once a day. It seems to happen more often at the same time I leave known wifi range. Coincidentally, I am not even on the February update yet. I am on AT&T if that matters. I will usually notice it when I notice my watch is not longer connected. I connect to several different devices throughout the day. FitBit, Polar H7, speakers, hauawi watch, car BT adapter. Not sure of any of those may be causing it. Thanks for looking into it.

Okay, so I realized that my Bluetooth turns off when the screen goes black (sleep mode). As soon as turn it back, it connects. Let it go off, and it disconnects. This is very, very annoying. It needs to be fixed ASAP. I wish my phone didn't automatically update last night. Was working fine until then.

I had this happen to me a couple times now.  Both times was while running with my LG Bluetooth headphones listening to Google Play Music.  Music stops, I look at my phone and bluetooth is off completely.  Once I turn it back on, the headphones reconnect and it works fine, until it happens again.

My problem is not only Bluetooth but the music player period. If I Play music just through the phone it turns off when screen goes black
