Slow Fingerprint android 8.1 Google pixel 2 XL

"Anyone else's fingerprint unlock slower than before the 8.1 update. My Pixel 2 XL's screen takes a good second before screen turns on. This just started after performing the update."

Found this on reddit and I am experiencing the same issue. Its not that the fingerprint scanner works slower because I feel the vibration very fast after I put my finger on the scanner but than it takes really long before the screen actually turns on.

Test this out in safe mode to see if a third party app is interfering

Agreed, the time it takes to "wake up" my phone is much slower. I noticed this right away ever since I updated my phone to 8.1

Google please fix this! I love my Pixel 2XL

I am experiencing the same thing. It's not just the fingerprint scanner, even using the power button, it takes some time to wake. Significantly and noticably slower than in Android 8.0. Any advice guys? It's bugging me :(

I also have the same issue: after updating my Pixel 2 to Oreo 8.1 my phone does wake up slowly when I use the fingerprint. I agree that it is NOT the fingerprint, because the vibration is still very fast at this moment. The phone also wakes up slowly if I use the on/off button on the right side. Seems to me as a software bug, because before the update everything works really fine.
