Hi Peter,

No, there is not an FM tuner on-board the Pixel phones. However, there are radio player apps available containing the stations that also bradcast over FM - TuneIn, for example:

Hi Dave,

I don't think the Verizon reference is relevant, really, as the phone works on many networks in many countries. For example, here in the UK, my Three sim would work and afford me the same unlimited streaming feature.

FM radios have not been enabled on any of the Nexus phones either although I understand the technology might have been available in the hardware. I would not be surprised were carriers in general not involved in the decision not to enable FM radio hardware but that is just a guess:

Mike - from the article you linked:

"Manufacturers can activate the chip, but the decision to do so typically rests with carriers. If you’re Verizon customer, tough luck. AT&T and T-Mobile are embracing activation for all Android phones, following a move Sprint made in 2013."

From that it would seem Google deactivated it under specific request from Verizon.
