Pixel Stand "Charging Slowly"

I'm having trouble with the Pixel Stand charging my Pixel 3 XL. It starts charging the phone rapidly as it should, but after a few minutes, despite the Assistant UI saying it's Charging Rapidly, the phone's lock screen (pictured) says Charging Slowly.

Monitoring charging activity through Accubattery, I can see in this state it's only drawing 600ma instead of the usual 1500-1900ma and I can't find the source of the problem.

I have restarted my phone, reinstalled the Pixel Stand app, plugged the stand into another wall socket, and everything seems to concretely repeat the problem - I'm never getting the desired results - it continuously fast charging. At some point the charge will drop and it just slow charges. Even redocking the phone at this point doesn't help.

Hi Adam. Are you using a case on your 'phone while charging?

I have noticed the same, if I unplug the stand it usually resolves

I'm not using a case. I also notice it partially resolves if you power cycle the Stand, but this only fixes it for ten minutes and it goes back to slow charging.

Is it a faulty unit or a hard/software issue?

I am not sure if its hardware or software, but I will escalate to see what I can find out

OK One thing I just learned. The Pixel stand is charging at a fast rate than traditional wireless so it is charging rapidbly for wireless, but not as rapidly as wired for pixel.

Two days back, I noticed that my Pixel stand is charging slowly. I checked all the connections, everything's okay. Once I took the chord out from the stand and connected directly to my phone, it is charging rapidly. Phone is cool and I'm not even using it while it's on the stand. I was on vacation and hadn't used the stand for about three weeks. I don't know what changed!
