Change wallpaper on your Pixel phone

You can change the background images on your phone's Home screens and lock screens. You can choose from your own photos or use images that come on your phone, including images that change automatically.

Important: Some of these steps work only on Android 10 and up. Learn how to check your Android version.

Change wallpapers

  1. On your phone's Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
  2. Tap Styles & wallpapers. If you don't see "Styles & wallpapers," tap Wallpapers.
  3. Pick your wallpaper.
    • To use your own image, tap My photos.
    • To use a curated image, tap a category And then an image.
    • Pixel 2 & later: To use a live wallpaper, tap Come Alive or Living Universe And then a wallpaper. If needed, tap Download.
    • Pixel 4 only: To interact with your wallpaper using quick gestures, tap Come Alive And then a wallpaper And then Download.
  4. At the top, tap Set wallpaper.
  5. If available, pick which screens show the wallpaper.

Tip: The color of your notifications, Quick Settings, and All apps list depends on your wallpaper.

Change styles (Pixel 2 & later)

To pick your Home screen's fonts, icons shapes, and colors:

  1. On your phone’s Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
  2. Tap Styles & wallpapers.
  3. At the bottom, tap Style.
  4. Choose a style, or make a custom style.
    • Optional: To use your current wallpaper with your new style, tap Keep current wallpaper.
  5. Tap Apply.

Skip a daily wallpaper

  1. On your phone's Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
  2. Tap Wallpapers.
  3. On your current daily wallpaper image, tap Refresh Reload.
