Get a great photo every time with Top Shot

With Top Shot, your Camera app takes a burst of photos and automatically chooses your best shot.

Turn on Top Shot

Pixel 10 and later

1. Open your device's Camera app .
2. At the bottom left, tap Settings .
3. Set Top Shot to Auto .

Tip: Photos that you take with Top Shot on Pixel 10 and later support HDR+ quality.

Pixel 9a and earlier

1. Open your device's Camera app .
2. At the bottom left, tap Settings .
3. Set Top Shot to Auto or On .

Manually pick your favourite shot from Motion photos

Take Motion photos to capture something in motion and then pick a favourite shot from your Motion photos.

You can find Motion photos in the Camera's option menu. To save the Motion photo as a video, tap More Export Video Export.

Turn on Motion photos

Pixel 10 and later

1. Open your device's Camera app .
2. At the bottom left, tap Settings .
3. Set Motion photos to Auto or On .

Get a great group pic every time with Auto Best Take

Important:

• This feature only works on Pixel 10 and later devices.
• To use Auto Best Take, you need Google Photos.
• You must turn on the Top Shot setting in Google Camera.

To get the best group photo, your Pixel can merge everyone's best facial expressions from multiple shots into a new image.

1. Open your device's Camera app .
2. At the bottom left, tap Settings .
3. Tap More settings .
4. Turn on Auto Best Take.

Tip: You can also manually choose faces with Best Take when you use Google Photos. Learn more on how to use Best Take to improve group photos.

Turn Frequent Faces on or off

You can help the camera identify and recommend better shots of the faces that you photograph or record the most.

When your camera finds and recommends other shots within your photos or quick videos, your camera recognises which shots include the faces that you capture often. Then, your camera recommends better photos of those faces.

If you turn on Frequent Faces, your camera saves data about the faces that you photograph or record. All face data is saved on your device, not sent to Google. If you turn off Frequent Faces, your data is deleted.

To turn on Frequent Faces:

1. Open your Camera app .
2. At the bottom left, tap Settings More settings .
3. Tap Frequent Faces.
4. Turn on Frequent Faces.

Tip: On Pixel 6 and later, including Pixel Fold, Frequent Faces can also help the camera to show skin tones more accurately.
