Create a document with Docs on your Pixelbook

Your Pixelbook comes with Google Docs, an app that lets you create documents, work on them in real time with other people, and store them online, all at no additional cost.

Create a document

  1. In laptop mode: In the corner of your screen, click the Launcher Launch icon and then Up arrow Up arrow
    In tablet mode: Go to your Home screen. To get there, tap the Launcher Launch icon in the corner of your screen.
  2. Select Google Docs Docs
  3. This will open a new document that saves itself automatically as you work on it.

Later, to find your document, follow step 1 above, then select Google Drive Google Drive

Open an existing document

  1. In laptop mode: In the corner of your screen, click the Launcher Launch icon and then Up arrow Up arrow.
    In tablet mode: Go to your Home screen. To get there, tap the Launcher Launch icon in the corner of your screen.
  2. Select Google Drive Google Drive
  3. Find the file you'd like to open, and double-click or tap it.

Tip: If you want to save a document as a Microsoft-formatted .docx file, go to File and then Download As, and select Microsoft Word (.docx).
