How to unsync accounts

My bf lost his phone and used mine to sign into his google account. He also added me as a backup. He now has a new phone and when he signed into photos, he can access all of my photos. ALL of them. (Screenshots, downloads etc.) When we delete the photos from his Google, they also delete from my phone. I removed his account from my phone and also turned off syncing. Nothing works. How can I keep my photos in my phone but stop them from uploading to his Google photos?

First be sure that each of your phones only has your account on it not the other person's, then verify the Google Photos app doesn't have the other account as well (once you remove the account from the phone it shouldn't be in the app, but go to  and tap your email to be sure that's the only account in Photos).

Once you have done this, it should be possible to delete the other person's photos from your account. If you still see the other person's photos then you may have partner library sharing turned on, here's info on how to stop sharing with a partner.
