Android app says 2mb of images on my phone correct. But storage says Photos app has 1gb incorrect.

Backed up all photos on my device as Files app shows 2 mb. But storage is saying 1gb on Photos app but they are not on my phone. I'm afraid to clear storage incase it deletes my backed up photos.

Thanks Peter. I deleted data from storage manager>photos. All my backed up pictures are still there. I think it's semantics more than anything. The message that comes up before you confirm to delete the data is scarey. Especially when it mentions all files will be deleted. I assumed that could mean photos and didn't want to take the risk. But now I know and the many other users who had the same issue can rest assured.

Not quite, Storage manager gives you a total for photos and videos, if you tap that and tap Photos then selecting Clear storage will delete the internal user data of the app which is separate to any photos either backed up or on the app.

Hello Ian, it is perfectly safe to clear storage, no backed up photos will be deleted. The data builds up as you scroll through your photos and it stores sufficient information to allow comfortable offline viewing, Peter

Thanks for the reply Peter. Just to be clear. If I tell storage manager to delete data (not cache I know that is no problem) I won't lose any of my backed up photos? And will I then free up the 1gb that storage manager says Photos is using? I'm just so worried I may lose my pictures.
