Don't see albums after searching

I made a lot of use of google photo's, but now I can't use it anymore.

I make a lot of different albums. I put a lot different words in the album title. A lot of titles have the same words but by using a combination of 3 words I always found what I was looking for.

Before when i searched for something.
It returned albums in my search results. And beneath the albums the photo results.

Now when I search for something it only shows my photos.
I need to see the albums that matched by being able to find what I need.
Some search strings have like 20 or more results and by looking at the 20 albums I could easily see.. ahh it's this one.
This way I also could find accidentle duplicate albums.

Right now, because the search doesn't return any albums It's imposible to find anything... I can't scroll through hundreds if not thousands of pictures.
I am very organized with my photo's but if the search doesn't properly work like it used to It's all my work for nothing.

Is this a recent update? Is this an error? Do I have too many albums?
I am sad :( help me please.

Addition:

Unless you have 999 thematic albums all named like Album-001, Album-002 etc. typing a single letter "d"  (without pressing the Enter-key) may reveal just months, but typing two letters "di" already reveals 2 albums, and typing three letters (or more) will reveal a single album - like shown below:

In the past I saw a lot of albums on top, but these made no sense because they showed their full contents and not the pictures searched for because these were shown below the albums already.
Like shown below for searchword "paris":

Thanks. It's more clear now: your albums have much more words than usual, and often the same. A spreadsheet may indeed help, but maybe also:
  • Search on a mobile device: it shows ALL album titles with your search terms, not just 10. Could that replace the function of the spreadsheet ?

  • Try to find specific photos: in the info panel of each photo you find the albums where it is added. Clicking on an album title brings you to the album.
When searching in photos the default operator is AND, but when you put - in front of a term (-word) that word is excluded. A search with word1 -word2 should exclude results found with word2.

I agree! That drop-down list that shows up when I start typing my keywords does me no good at all. I need to see the album covers to figure out which album I want!

I also see the change (thanks for letting us know - did not hear anything from Google), but must say that I never used that method to find albums.
  • Like Rinus said when you type 1 word of a title Google does suggest you 10 album titles. If you suspect that there are more you can type a second or even third word till you see the one you want. On Android (don't know about iOS) it even does suggest ALL albums with start typing a word. You need to click (tap on mobile) on the suggested album.

  • When you type a word and then immediately <Enter> you now get only photos. When you click on a photo and open the info panel, you get a link to all albums where that photo is added to. This method is now less efficient indeed.

I see. Interesting to see how different people use the same tool in different ways. That's fine.
As said in my previous reply, I never used that method but also have no problems finding my albums (I have about 400 albums). Adding more info to the album title may help. I am afraid that we have to live with what the Google Photos Masterminds think is good for us, or find a better platform.

What I would like to know is if its a bug or an actual decision remove this feature.
One day it works the other day it does not.

I have about 600 albums i think. The thing is. Upfront indont know yet the full information to search.
I usually search with a combinationnof 3 words.
Those bring back about 10 albums. And there I see what i need.

There is just a lot of albums with a lot og the same info. And the info that differs is exactly theninfo i cant know yet upfront.

And it absolutely must stay in different albums.

I hope this explains my use.

I might look around for other products.

What makes google so usefull is thebface recognition and also because it has free storage as long as you let them compress.
