My photos are missing

I am missing photos from 2015 to 2021. The only photos that are on my google photos are from 2021 to 2025. I upgraded my storage because I was maxed out of 15gb so I upgraded to 100gb and now half of my photos are missing and it says I’m using 55gb?! Make that make sense. I have been using google photos for years and this is very upsetting.

Hello The Windfelder’s
Welcome to the Google Photos Community help forum,
Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. Yes, I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should. I understood that you want to restore your recently deleted photos or videos but keep in mind that some photos/videos may disappear, since you are logged in on a different Google account. So, please check the logged in ID is correct or not.
It is very clear that if your photos or videos deleted recently not more than 60 days ago, you can find those in the Bin / Trash to check actually if they are available there. To check your Trash or Bin, open the Google Photos App  on your phone. Now, go to > Library, then press on > Bin / Trash
If your photos or videos are available there – select one by one.
Lastly, at the bottom click on Restore.

Read this article also to know more about "Restore recently deleted photos & videos"

Notes for you:
If you don’t find your photos/videos or the files there in the Bin or Trash that means you lost your photos or videos that are permanently deleted and you won’t be able to restore again.
Because the photos, videos or files are -
> deleted/moved in Trash more than 60 days ago
> deleted/emptied your Trash
> Permanently deleted from your Trash
> Permanently deleted from Gallery/Devices/App without proper backing it up.

> If you are inactive in Google Photos for 2 years or more; your content may be deleted-Learn more about this.
> And if you are over your storage limit for 2 years or more; your content may be deleted-Learn more about it.
