Photos deleted from device and Google photos, plus it says backup complete but it's not. 0 Recommended Answers 5 Replies 5 Upvotes

Ok, I've double checked settings, seen if the folders on my device where checked for the backup,  I've also cleared app data and cache, closed the app and restarted but, still, when I delete a photo using the gallery of my smartphone, it disappears from Google photos too. I've also tried to remove the photos from the device using the Google Photos app but it says that some elemens were not saved on Google photos. And if I try backup them manually nothing seems to happen and the situation doesn't change.
Any ideas?

Hi Giorgi,

Thanks for writing in!

Are you trying to say that Google photos no longer backup your photos from your mobile app?

marked this as an answer
No, what I'm saying is that Google photos seems not doing the complete backup of my gallery. It seems to miss some photos or video even if they respect the parameters for the upload. I have to manually backup them and only then I can delete them safely from my device. Plus the "free up space" function seems not working properly either, cause even if there are plenty of photos backed up, it says that is impossible to proceed.

Are you using the most recent version of Google photos app?

You may want to do an update of your Google Photos app to the latest version to see if it helps.

If the issue persists, you may have to back up your device data and do a factory reset on your device as this process resolves most of the space issues on your device.

we'll wait to hear back from you.

Yes, I'm using the most recent version of the app.
Ugh...the factory reset sucks >_<

Yeah, it sucks, but its the easiest way to resolve space issue on your device.

Let us know the outcome.

Please remember to backup all your important files before doing a factory reset.
