What happens when I delete cache data of Google photos.

My phone storage is full and I've deleted everything useless I can find but it still notifies the full storage. I noticed that Google photos application has over 1 GB of cache data so what happens if I delete that cache data. Do I lose my data/photos in the Google photos app? Or is it safe to delete cache memory?

Welcome to Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.

If you delete the cached data, the thumbnails of the pics uploaded to cloud will vanish.

However, the app will regenerate those thumbnails & then that will reflect the true state of the cloud backup.
