Manage your creation, suggestion and rediscover cards

You may get album or archive suggestions, creations and more in the 'For you' section of the Google Photos app.

With the 'For you' section of Google Photos, you can:

  • Find effects that were created for you from your photos and videos.
  • Be reminded of photos from a year or 2 ago.
  • Find suggestions or add photos to an album or archive.
  • Free up space on your device if you have a phone or tablet.

Check your creations, suggestions and more

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app Photos.
  2. At the bottom, tap For you Assistant.

Types of 'For you' cards

Tip: If you want to get more cards, take more photos and videos, then back them up.

Save creations

When something is created for you, like a movie or an animation, you can save or swipe on the card to dismiss it.

Find creations that you saved

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app Photos.
  2. Sign in to your Google Account. 
  3. At the bottom, tap Albums.
  4. At the top, swipe left and tap the type of creations that you want to find.

Check whether something has been created for you

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app Photos.
  2. Sign in to your Google Account. 
  3. At the bottom, tap For you Assistant.
If you don't have any creations, then you have none to view.

Add suggested photo to an album

If there are new photos that may be related to an existing album, you might get a 'For you' card to add to the album.

You can review the photos and the album before you add to the album.

Move photos to the archive

If you have photos of documents, receipts or anything that you don't want to see in your Photos library, you may get a 'For you' card to move them to archive.

Remove a card

To remove a 'For you' card, tap Remove Remove.

Stop getting cards

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app Photos.
  2. Sign in to your Google Account. 
  3. At the top left, tap Menu Menu.
  4. Select Settings and then Suggestions.
  5. Turn off the suggestion type that you don't want.
