Overview of Photomath

What is Photomath?

Photomath is the #1 app for math learning, and that is for a good reason! We can recognize math problems ranging from arithmetic to calculus instantly by using the camera on your mobile device.

Once you scan your problem, we’ll show you how to solve it step-by-step. Photomath Plus, our premium version of the app, contains even more helpful features, like our signature Animated Tutorials (perfect for visual learners!), helpful contextual hints and concepts explanations and custom-made word problem solutions.

Check out how Photomath app works in our quick demo video.

How does Photomath work?

To be able to solve any problem, Photomath first has to read it.

Through the years Photomath switched focus from on-device to cloud computing. Each image with a math problem is now sent to cloud servers and is being analyzed by a highly advanced neural network. This network determines the formula for the scanned problem..

In the next step, a problem-solving algorithm is applied to the formula to provide the solution and solving steps.

This highly advanced expert system that emulates the problem-solving ability of a human math expert is built into the app, providing the user with a great math learning experience.

How much does Photomath cost?

Core functionality of the Photomath app which includes machine-generated solution steps for equations and expressions is free of charge! So scan away and get step-by-step solutions for almost any type of math problem. You can check what Math topics we cover in this article.
