What is Google Pay?
We’re working to bring together all the ways to pay, like Google Wallet and Android Pay into a single brand: Google Pay. You’ll start to see the Google Pay logo when you buy Google products, like a photo album on Google Photos or digital content on Google Play.
The Android Pay app will soon become the Google Pay app.
Google Pay does all the same things Android Pay did. You’ll also notice some shiny new additions to the app designs and features, as well as support for new partners over the coming months.
If you’re already using Android Pay, you don’t need to do anything to get started with Google Pay.
Google Pay is much more than an app. It’s a way to easily pay in stores, on the web, and in apps (like Airbnb, Fandango, Lyft, and Instacart) without having to get your card from your wallet. You can also use it to keep your gift cards, loyalty cards, tickets and coupons when you shop at your favorite stores.
What’s happening to Android Pay?
Android Pay isn’t going away. With Google Pay, you’ll have everything you loved about Android Pay with a fresh look and new features. All of the information you’ve added and your Android Pay settings will be the same on Google Pay.
