Important Update on UPI MDR: NPCI on 13th October 2026 decided that, keeping in mind the festive season, Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) on select Person-to Merchant (P2M) UPI transactions, shall be implemented immediately post Diwali at a date to be notified separately. Merchants who had already opted out of >₹2,000 payments will continue receiving all payments at zero charge and will need to opt out again once MDR goes live.
