Manage your organization's antenna library

Import and delete an antenna with the Network Planner. Before you can add a site and plan your network, import an antenna to the library. The antenna library is available across your organization’s projects.

View available antennas in the library
  1. On your computer, sign in to the Network Planner.
  2. Click View projects and, in the left panel, select your organization.
  3. In the center panel, select your project and click Open.
  4. On the left, click the Antenna tab Device.
  5. To open details, select an antenna.

Tip: To sort antennas by various fields, click Browse at the top of the Antenna tab and click on the column header you want to sort by.

Import an antenna to the library
  1. On your computer, sign in to the Network Planner.
  2. Click View projects and, in the left panel, select your organization.
  3. In the center panel, select your project and click Open.
  4. At the top, click Import .
  5. Under "Import from," select Computer.
  6. Find your file and click Open.
Tip: You can also drop a file directly onto the page to import an antenna.
Antenna template definitions

The antenna template must be filled out correctly or the antenna won’t be added to the library.

  • Manufacturer: The name of the antenna manufacturer.
  • Model Name: The model of the antenna.
  • Acquisition Frequency (MHz): The frequency the antenna pattern was measured at. It’ll be above the start frequency and below the end frequency.
  • Frequency Start & End (MHz): The operating range of the antenna.
  • Normal Gain (dBi): The normal gain of the antenna.
    • Important: Antenna gains are absolute numbers. The peak gain has to be shown for the peak lobes.
  • Beamwidth (Degrees): The width of the antenna’s main beam.
  • Electrical Downtilt (Degrees): The elevation angle of the antenna’s peak gain.
    • Important: This will be zero if not specified.
  • Electrical Downtilt (Min & Max): The antenna’s electrical downtilt range.
    • Important: Only use these if the antenna has a variable electrical tilt pattern.
  • Angle (Degrees): From -179 to 180 degrees, specify the Azimuth Gain (dBi) and Elevation Gain (dBi).
Delete an antenna from the library

Important: You can’t delete an antenna if it’s in use by any project.

  1. On your computer, sign in to the Network Planner.
  2. Click View projects and, in the left panel, select your organization.
  3. In the center panel, select your project and click Open.
  4. On the left, click the "Antenna" tab Device.
  5. Right-click the antenna you want to remove.
  6. Click Delete antenna.
