After you submit your promotions data source and product data source to Merchant Centre, Google needs to review and approve your promotions before distributing them. We recommend that you submit your promotions as early as possible for a timely review.
The approval process requires two reviews:
- Policy review: Confirms that the promotion follows all editorial requirements and promotions policies. This review takes place shortly after a promotion is submitted, during weekday operating hours.
- SKU review: Google testers check that the promotion works and follows all promotions policies. This review takes place at the promotion's effective start time (the time that your promotion becomes active on your site).
If your promotion passes both the policy review and SKU review, Google will approve the promotion and set it to live.
When will I see my approved promotion on Google?
The review and approval process is typically completed within 12 hours of the promotion effective start time, but it can take up to 24 hours.
What happens if my promotion is not approved?
If your promotion doesn't pass review and testing, you may have the opportunity to modify the promotion and resubmit it for verification.
Promotion title modification
Google or its affiliates may modify promotion titles for clarity and consistency, based on your provided details, without altering the promotion's core meaning or value. This ensures that the title accurately reflects the set conditions. Modifications may include aligning titles with missing conditions or incentives, ensuring consistency between conditions and incentives, and alignment to standard formatting (size, punctuation, capitalisation, spelling).
