Manage automated promotions

The automated promotions feed helps you automatically share your live promotions with Google without having to manually create them in your Merchant Center account.

Google will extract eligible live promotions from your products’ webpages (also referred to as the Product Detail page) so that they will be automatically showcased on free product listings and Shopping ads on Google. If available, Google will also extract the promotion coupon codes. After extraction, you can find the details of these promotions in your Google Merchant Center account under the “Promotions” page.

Google will regularly verify if a promotion is still valid. If a promotion is no longer available for a product, it will be automatically removed from Google's platforms.

Note: This feature is currently in a closed beta stage for merchants in the US. Not all websites and or products are eligible for automated promotions. 

Promotion types allowed

For the websites that are included in the beta, we will share your promotions that are:

  • Percent off with or without promotion codes
  • Amount off with or without promotion codes

Promotion types not allowed

The below promotion types are not supported:

  • Loyalty member specific promotions
  • Sale price or strikethrough prices
  • All other conditional promotion types not listed in the above "allowed" section

Opt out some promotions from showing on Google

Promotions set up by the automated promotions feed cannot be edited. If you don't want one of these promotions to show on Google, you can end the promotion by following these steps:

  1. In the navigation menu of your Merchant Center account, click Marketing.
  2. Click Promotions.
  3. Check the box next to the promotion you want to end.
  4. Click End promotions.
  5. (Optional) You can also end specific promotions from their description page. After you’ve clicked the specific promotion, scroll to the bottom of the description page and select End Promotion.

Google will regularly review and verify if promotions are still valid. If a promotion is no longer available for a product, it will be automatically removed from Google's platforms.


Opt out of all automated promotions

You can opt out of the automated promotion feed by following these steps:

  1. In the navigation menu of your Merchant Center account, click Marketing.
  2. Click Promotions.
  3. Click Promotion Feed and navigate to the promotion feed page.
  4. Click Remove promotions in the banner with the title “Your Promotions are live on Google”.

Alternatively, you can opt out of the automated promotion feed by following these steps:

  1. In the navigation menu of your Merchant Center account, click Marketing.
  2. Click Promotions.
  3. Navigate to the "Source" column.
  4. Hover over the info icon next to the automatically updated source.
  5. Click Manage.
  6. In the popup window, click the checkbox to opt out of the automated promotion feed.
