Monitor the health of devices

This feature is available for Google Cloud customers.

As an administrator, you can run diagnostic tests on your Google meeting room hardware. Then, you can analyze the results of the last 10 tests. Check your devices for connection quality, video bandwidth, resolution, audio capture, and the functioning of protocols such as UDP, TCP, and IPV6. The results keep individual user data private. 

Diagnose Google meeting room hardware​

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console Home page, go to Devices and then Google meeting room hardware.

    To see Devices, you might have to click More controls at the bottom.

  3. Choose an option:
    • Filter the devices by organizational unit or other criteria.
    • Click a device name to select it.

      If you don’t see the device, scroll down the list to find it. You might need to go to the next page or further to find the device.

  4. In the Diagnostics section, click Run Diagnostics Now.
    The results will be available after a few minutes.

Analyze test results

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console Home page, go to Devices and then Google meeting room hardware.

    To see Devices, you might have to click More controls at the bottom.

  3. Choose an option:
    • Filter the devices by organizational unit or other criteria.
    • Click a device name to select it.

      If you don’t see the device, scroll down the list to find it. You might need to go to the next page or further to find the device.

      If tests were run for the device, the 10 most recent runs are summarized in a list, including the date and time for each test. The list specifies whether tests ran successfully in specific categories, if any failures occurred, or if there are warnings.

  4. For detailed diagnostic results, point to an item in the list and click View details.
  5. (Optional) From the Diagnostics details window, click Download as CSV to download a CSV file of the diagnostic data.

You can then use the CSV file to generate reports, and share the reports with colleagues.
