Create background images with Gemini in Google Meet

Important: This article refers to a feature available to users on work accounts through the Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Business, and AI Meetings and Messaging add-ons. It's also available to users on personal accounts through Google One AI Premium.

This feature is also available through our early access testing program, Google Workspace Labs.

On Google Meet, you can use the "Generate a background" prompt to create background images using artificial intelligence. For example, you can ask Google Meet to create an illustration of a magical forest.

This feature is currently available on desktop. In your self view, your background will appear mirrored or inverted. However, the other participants in the meeting will see the correct orientation.
