Ask participants questions in a Google Meet meeting

Anyone in a meeting can ask questions. The questions show until they're deleted or hidden.

After a meeting, the moderator gets a detailed report of all the questions.

Anyone who schedules or starts a meeting will be the meeting host. If you transfer or schedule a meeting on someone else's calendar, the other person could become the meeting host. By default, there's only one meeting host per meeting but you can add up to 25 co-hosts once inside the meeting.

Turn on Q&A

Important:

  • Q&A turns on automatically for all users except Google Workspace for Education users. For Education users, Meeting hosts can turn on Q&A during the meeting.
  • Hosts can disable Q&A from a pop-up when they start the live stream from their computer or turn it off under “Host controls.”
  1. On your computer, at the bottom right, click Host Controls .
  2. Scroll to Meeting Activities.
  3. Turn on Allow questions in Q&A Toggle ON.

When you ask a question, everyone in the meeting gets a notification.

When you ask a question anonymously, details are hidden from:

  • Other meeting participants

  • Your Workspace admin

The question is shared in its entirety with Google. The question is later anonymized or deleted, subject to our data retention policy.

  1. On your computer, at the bottom right, click Activities and then Q&A and then Ask a question.
