Map search results showing in map area national language

When I search something in another country, I don't want to search results to come up both in English and that country's language. How can I turn off the search area national language? I can't figure out a way.

Hi User 13067368986426778,

No I am afraid this is not possible.

I'm the poster. This is pretty unusual it seems. There's no double-naming with countries that use the Latin alphabet. Milan is not also Milano nor is Sicily also Sicilia. But Cyrillic alphabet and all other languages, except it seems only Turkish, have places double-named.

Hi User 13067368986426778,

Welcome to the Google Maps community.

Google Maps transliterates labels on the map for users so that they can understand how to pronounce a name and know what it sounds like when heard, while still being able to visibly recognise the street names, shop signs, public transport stops, etc that are written in the local script.

Obviously transliteration is not required for languages that share the same script so this is why you do not see double labels on those instances.

Is there anyway to turn it off? There's no benefit for me to see place names written in Chinese or Arabic script. It clutters up the map for no purpose or use.
