I reported this as well. How long does it take to simply update the colours for the UK, Greece and Japan? The DfT is usually very touchy about this because the motorway road signs here are blue and the Primary route signs are green.

Also, the expressways for Japan, and the interstates in the USA should be green because of the road signs.

It has been a month since I reported this issue and there has still been no response. Additionally it seems that the regression of colour standards has creeped into the classic maps.

I hate to say it in all-caps but, PLEASE FIX THE ROAD LINE COLOURS.

Thanks.

I reported this also over a month ago

very disappointed to notice that the old style maps on my phone (not had the update yet) has changed the road colours to orange

I can live with the other things removed from the new maps, but the new colouring makes it a lot more difficult to read

What have you done here, Google? The UK road colour scheme is Completely wrong.

I couldn't agree more.  Noticed it on my computer, just went to use my phone instead, and every time it refreshes a part of the map, the colour scheme is going to this awful new version.

Please Google, sort this out.  Why on earth you changed this to an incomprehensible, unviewable, bland palette, where every road basically looks the same, is beyond me.

Please revert this so that roads are the correct colour in the UK.

I agree! I requested an invite to use the new Google Maps, but reverted to the old maps within about 10 minutes because I couldn't stand the road colour scheme - and now the wrong colours have infected the old version too. Hate it.

I agree that the new colour scheme should never have been implemented. It's a major step backwards for usability in the UK, where the traditional colour scheme has worked well for decades, and is firmly established in the public psyche.

Here's a Facebook group calling for the changes to be reversed:

New changes in map are not satisfactory in case of road and further enhancement required. Earlier major roads and minor roads displayed as yellow road so it was very easy to distinguish between local roads and other districts road but now as all showing white not looking good.
For terminal road also a different color should be shown so that can be easily identify and mapper  can get clear indication that this road does not requires further extension.
These are specially railway station or any industry  entry road so looks very good if in different color.
Thanks in advance.

Category was changed to reflect the current situation, and possibly to get more attention.

I can't see this ever being fixed/corrected

Happily moved on from google now due to so many ridiculous changes for the worse (IMO), in Maps and their other products
