Suggest edits or the closure of a place

If you’re familiar with a place, you can provide feedback that helps Google Maps decide whether to change a place's information.

Important: If you own or manage a business, learn how to fix your business information.

Change a place’s name, location, hours or other details

  1. Open Google Maps Maps.
    • Make sure that you’re signed in to your Google Account.
  2. Search for a place or select it on the map.
  3. Select Suggest an edit and then Change name or other details
  4. Follow onscreen instructions to submit your feedback.
Tip: To help us verify your suggestion, add a photo. Your photos are publicly available under your name.

Suggest an edit to a business attribute

Important: You can only suggest edits to business attributes on a mobile device.

Business attributes show helpful information about a business, like delivery options, wheelchair accessibility, outdoor seating and more.

To suggest edits to one or more business attributes:

  1. On your mobile device, open the Google Maps app Maps.
    • Make sure that you’re signed in to your Google Account.
  2. Find the profile of the business that you want to edit.
  3. In the tab selector bar, scroll sideways and tap About and then Describe this place .
  4. You can tap an attribute to change it to:
    • True
    • False 
    • Unsure
  5. When you’ve finished making edits, tap Submit.

Tell us if a place doesn't exist or shouldn't be displayed

Mark a place as moved or a duplicate
  1. Open Google Maps Maps.
    • Make sure that you’re signed in to your Google Account.
  2. Search for a place or select it on the map.
  3. Select Suggest an edit and then Close or remove.
  4. Under 'Close or remove', select Moved to a different location or Duplicate of another place and then Submit.
Tip: If you think something should be removed for legal reasons, submit a legal request.
Mark a place as private or non-existent
  1. Open Google Maps Maps.
    • Make sure that you’re signed in to your Google Account.
  2. Search for a place or select it on the map.
  3. Select Suggest an edit and then Close or remove.
  4. Under 'Close or remove', select Not open to the public or Doesn't exist here and then Submit.

Tell us if a place has closed or reopened

Mark a place as permanently or temporarily closed
  1. Open Google Maps Maps.
    • Make sure that you’re signed in to your Google Account.
  2. Search for a place or select it on the map.
  3. Select Suggest an edit and then Close or remove.
  4. Under 'Close or remove', select Permanently closed or Temporarily closed and then Submit.
Mark a business as reopened
  1. Open Google Maps Maps.
    • Make sure that you’re signed in to your Google Account.
  2. Search for a place marked as temporarily or permanently closed, or select it on the map.
  3. Select Suggest an edit and then Reopen and then Submit.

How long it takes for corrections to be published

We review your edits, so your changes might take some time to be updated on the map.
