Take photos automatically or use HDR

Auto-capture

Auto-capture lets you take multiple photos automatically, without having to tap Camera before every photo.

Make sure your phone is connected to the 360 camera.

  1. Open the Street View app .
  2. In the "Private" tab, tap More More.
  3. Next to "Auto-capture," turn the switch on.
  4. Tap the blue linked camera .
  5. Move to the next location.
  6. To stop or pause auto-capture, tap Pause . To start auto-capture again, tap Pause .

Notes:

  • We recommend using auto-capture with a helmet or monopod.
  • When capturing large areas, make sure your phone is fully charged and has enough memory to store your photos. If you use auto-capture for 50 minutes it will take an additional 25 minutes to import the photos. You'll end up with 300-400 photos which will use 3-4 GB of memory space.
  • Photos will be taken approximately every 8 seconds. Make sure that your photos are within two small steps of each other (1 m / 3 ft) when indoors and within five steps of each other (3 m / 10 ft) when outdoors. To get the spacing right, you shouldn't run, bike, or drive.
  • Make sure to keep the camera turned on until your photos appear in the “Profile” tab.
HDR

HDR (high dynamic range) combines three photos that are taken at different exposures to create one photo combining the best of each photo.

To turn HDR on, follow the steps below.

  1. Make sure your phone is connected to the 360 camera.
  2. Open the Street View app .
  3. In the "Private" tab, tap More More.
  4. Next to "HDR," turn the switch on.

Tips for creating multiple 360 photos

  • Make sure your phone is fully charged and has enough memory to store your photos.
  • Stabilize the camera at 1.20 - 1.80 m / 4 - 6 ft. You can do this by attaching the camera to a monopod, a tripod, or helmet.
    • Monopod: Keep the monopod steady above your head and keep your head down when taking photos.
    • Tripod: Step out of the way before taking photos.
    • Helmet: Make sure to keep your head still and steady when taking photos.
  • Space the photos about two small steps apart (1 m / 3 ft) when indoors and five steps apart (3 m / 10 ft) when outdoors.
  • Follow natural paths and walkways so that there is a clear line of sight between the photos.
  • Start taking photos from the street and keep taking them until you're inside the place.
  • When taking photos indoors, limit your collection to 100 photos.
