If you have an Android device and want to test new features in the Maps app before they’re released, join the beta tester program.
Note: You can only have one version of the Maps app installed on your phone or tablet. If a beta version isn’t available, you’ll get the regular version until the next beta version is available.
Join the beta tester program
To become a beta tester, follow the steps below.
- Opt in to beta test the Maps app.
- Choose Become a tester.
Important: We ask that you don’t publicize or share the features you’re testing until they’re publicly launched.
To leave the beta tester program, go to the opt-out page > Leave the program.
Note: If you leave the program, you might have to update the Google Maps app to use the latest regular version.
