You can explore world landmarks and natural wonders, and experience places like museums, arenas, restaurants, and small businesses with Street View. You can use Street View in Google Maps and the Street View gallery.
Get to Street View in Google Maps
Search for a place or drop a pin
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app .
- Search for a place or drop a pin on the map.
- To drop a pin, touch and hold a place on the map.
- Tap the thumbnail with a Street View icon .
- When you're done, at the top left, tap Back .
Tap on a place marker
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app .
- Tap on a place marker.
- At the bottom, tap the place name or address.
- Tap the thumbnail with a Street View icon .
- When you're done, at the top left, tap Back .
Use Street View Layer
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app .
- At the top, tap Layers Street View.
- Blue lines on the Map indicate Street View coverage. Tap on any blue line to enter Street View.
Find street-level imagery from other dates
You can find street-level imagery taken at different times from the Street View archives and other contributors. For example, you can explore how your neighborhood has changed over time.
Important: Historic imagery isn't available for every place that has Street View.
- On your mobile device or tablet, open the Google Maps app .
- Tap Layers .
- Select Street View, then tap .
- Tap on any blue line.
- Tap the "See more dates" link. Not all locations on Google Maps have this link.
- At the bottom, scroll and select an image in the carousel.
- When you’re done, at the top left, tap Close .
Share Street View image
To share a Street View image, tap Share .
Explore Street View
- To explore in Street View: drag your finger on the screen or tap the compass.
- To move: tap the arrows or double-tap the image in the direction you want to go.
- For a wider view and change to landscape mode: turn your device sideways.
- To zoom in: pinch open on the screen.
- To zoom out: pinch closed on the screen.
Explore split-screen Street View
Switch from a full-screen Street View image, to a split-screen view that also displays a small map.
- On the Street View image, at the bottom right, tap the Split-screen arrows . The split-screen view shows a small map at the bottom of the screen.
- To zoom in a map: pinch open on the screen.
- To zoom out: pinch closed on the screen.
- If you select any named point of interest on the smaller map: the map recenters immediately and new imagery loads for the best view of that place.
- If you tap any blue line on the smaller map: the map recenters immediately.
Preview directions in Street View
Important: To get directions in Street View, first enter a destination and tap Directions .- On your iPhone or iPad, to find detailed directions, pull up the bottom window.
- If a preview is available for a step, a photo shows. To get to Street View for the step you want, tap the photo.
- To get to the next step in the route, at the bottom, pull left.
- To get to the previous step, at the bottom, pull right.
- To exit Street View, at the top left, tap the back arrow .
Report a Street View issue
- Locate the image.
- Click More Report a problem.
- Select the issue and click Submit.
Report outdated Satellite or Street View imagery
If you want to report outdated imagery to our team, fill out the request information on this form. Your feedback guides us to determine where imagery updates are most important. Keep in mind that Google can't commit to a specific timeline for updates.
