End of support for FTP feed uploads in Manufacturer Center

September 27, 2023

On January 8th, 2024, support for FTP feed uploads in Manufacturer Center will end. After this date, it will no longer be possible to use Google’s FTP server (ftp://uploads.google.com) to upload feed files to Manufacturer Center. Other feed upload methods like SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) and scheduled fetch will still be available and unaffected by this change.

No creation of new FTP accounts

As of September 27th, 2023, it will no longer be possible to create new FTP accounts within Manufacturer Center. Accounts that do not already use Google’s FTP server (ftp://uploads.google.com) to upload feed files will be unable to start using this feature after that date.

Removal of existing FTP accounts

To avoid disruption, manufacturers who already use Google’s FTP server (ftp://uploads.google.com) to transfer files to Manufacturer Center will need to migrate to a different feed upload method by January 8th, 2024. On that date, all existing FTP accounts will be removed from their relevant Manufacturer Center accounts. Learn more about alternatives to FTP feed upload in Manufacturer Center.

Note: Product feeds that use a file uploaded via FTP will work with a file by the same name when uploaded via SFTP. It isn’t necessary to recreate the feed if you switch o Google’s SFTP server.

If you aren’t using Google’s FTP server (ftp://uploads.google.com) to upload feeds in Manufacturer Center, no action is required. If you have any questions or concerns, contact your Google representative for Manufacturer Center programs, or contact our support teams.
