Summarize conversations in spaces

To stay updated on long, unread conversations in spaces where you’re a member, use conversation summaries. When you turn on conversation summaries, they can:

• Appear when necessary in conversations.
• Summarize conversations in English.

Important: Conversation summaries are only available for Google Workspace accounts.

Turn conversation summary on & off in Google Chat

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chat app .
2. At the top left, tap Menu   Settings .
3. Scroll to “General.”
4. Turn “Conversation Summaries” on or off.

Turn conversation summary on & off in Gmail

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open Gmail .
2. Tap Menu   Settings .
3. Select your account.
4. Scroll to "General."
5. Check or uncheck the box next to "Conversation Summaries."
