About Automated Local Services Ads lead credits

Lead credits aren't available for health care verticals, tax specialists, or advertisers in EMEA.

With Local Services Ads, advertisers pay for high-quality leads. In order to help you stay focused on what matters most to your business, Google makes it easier to receive credit for poor quality leads with automated Local Services Ads lead credits.

How it works

We work extensively to train machine learning models to understand which leads are high quality.

Leads are first assessed when the potential customer makes initial contact, and leads determined to be invalid or low quality are not charged. Charged leads get reassessed by our models over time, and may be issued credits automatically if later determined to be low quality.

Note: While Local Services aims to pre-process all leads with this system, you may still notice some poor quality leads processed via auto credits within the first 24 hours.

Google no longer supports credits for “job type not serviced” and “geo not serviced” leads. Additionally, lead credits aren't available for health care verticals, tax specialists, or advertisers in EMEA.

What to expect

In most cases, credits will be applied to your account balance within 30 days. Note that the original lead charge will still appear on your invoice.

Across lead reports, you’ll find:

  • Not charged leads: Uncharged leads appear if Google sent you leads that weren’t charged from the onset. This could occur for a variety of reasons, including low quality or duplicate lead.
  • Charged leads: Charged leads appear if Google sent you leads that were charged from the onset.
  • In review: This lead is being reviewed. If the lead isn't a good match for your business, a credit will be applied
  • Credited leads: Credited leads appear if you were charged and then credited. This may occur either through autocrediting or as a bonus credit for leaving feedback

Help us improve

Your feedback in the Lead Feedback Survey is crucial in helping us understand your preferences, so that we may do our best to send you more of the leads that are best suited to your business.

If you’re receiving unwanted leads, revisit your service areas, job types, and categories. Refine your settings to ensure you're attracting your ideal customers. Remember that any changes you make to these settings could reduce the number of leads you receive.
