Jump End of Service FAQ

On June 28, 2019 Jump service will end. This service impacts current and previous users.

  • Upload access to Jump will be suspended on June 26, 2019 at 11:59PM Pacific Time.

  • Your Jump data will be available to download through June 27, 2019. If you wish to back up your data, you must download your files by June 27, 2019. We highly recommend starting this process as soon as possible.

  • We will deactivate Jump account access and begin deleting your Google Cloud Storage data on June 28, 2019.

 

Why is Jump shutting down?

With the emergence of a number of alternative solutions for creators, we saw usage of Jump Assembler decline.  

I’m an owner of a GoPro Odyssey or YI HALO. Can I use my camera with other stitching services?

HALO and Odyssey raw footage can be stitched using 3rd party stitching software such as Mistika VR and the Nuke Cara VR plugin.  

Can I still buy a HALO?

What’s going to happen to my data?

Jump data will be deleted from Google Cloud Storage buckets promptly after service suspension on June 28, 2019. You are welcome to manually delete this data at your convenience any time before your Jump service is suspended, either through Jump Manager or by using Google Cloud Storage tools. Why are you deleting my Jump Assembler data?

We are ending Jump service and will be unable to continue storing your data on Google Cloud Storage. All Jump data will be deleted from Google Cloud Storage.

How do I download my data?

There are three ways you can download your data from Jump Assembler/Google Cloud Storage:

  1. Jump Manager - to download stitched footage only. Learn how to download your stitches using Jump Manager

  2. Gsutil - A Python application that lets you access Cloud Storage from the command line and perform a number of bucket and object management tasks. Learn how to set up gsutil by following the quickstart guide

  3. Cloud Console - A resource tool for managing your Jump data through a web-browser. Console downloads may be slower than the other two methods. Learn how to download GCS objects using Console  

    1. Open the Cloud Storage browser in the Google Cloud Platform Console by entering https://console.cloud.google.com/storage/browser/[YOUR JUMP CREATOR ID]/ in the address bar.

    2. Right-click on the object you want to download.

    3. Save the object to your desired local folder.

    4. For the Chrome browser, the save option appears as Save Link As...

What’s going to happen to my Jump Creator Google Group after Jump service ends?

Your Google Group will be disassociated from Jump, but it will remain active. Users who are currently owners of the group will still have access to the Google Group management settings. Learn about managing your Jump Creator Google Group

How can I stop getting email updates about the Jump service?

To unsubscribe from future communications about these products:

  1. Sign in to Google Groups.

  2. Click My Groups.

  3. Choose the group name with your Jump Creator ID.  

  4. Click Membership and email settings.

  5. Choose the Don't send email updates option, or to leave the group and stop getting emails, click Leave group.

    Note: Leaving your group revokes access to Jump Assembler.

We are no longer supporting Jump Manager. The final release is v 1.29.1.
