Connectivity partners: Starter guide

Connectivity partners (Step 3: Develop and test the integration)

This illustration demonstrates the stage where you develop and test your integration to become a connectivity partner, which occurs from week 3 to week 9 of the entire process.

Share your list of properties

Integration Stage: Weeks 3-4

Now that you have a Hotel Center account, you can begin to share your list of properties with us. Be sure to include the following details so that we can accurately match them with properties on Google Maps:

  • Hotel ID (required)
  • Hotel name (required)
  • Address (required)
  • Phone number (highly recommended)
  • Latitude and longitude (highly recommended)
  • Amenities such as Wi-Fi access, parking, and airport shuttle (highly recommended)

Here’s how to share your property information

Format Push Hotel Center Pull
CSV (Example) No Yes No
XML (Example) Yes Yes

Yes

Recommendation: Start with a test property (if needed), then scale to as many properties as possible (recommended minimum is 5 properties) for certification. You can then launch and scale to the rest of your properties with Google. If you upload your full list of properties upfront, we can ensure that you match to as many properties as possible early on and improve your integration speed.

Set up your landing page

Integration Stage: Weeks 4-5

Users expect to see the same property and price that they selected from their Google search appear on your landing page. Learn about our Referral Experience Policy

Set up a dynamic landing page that can be configured per account or brand. You can use variables for hotel ID, check-in date, checkout date, number of travelers, and many other parameters to generate the correct landing page for each user. You can also define the associated name and icon seen by users.

How to send us your property's landing page

Format Push Hotel Center Pull
Define URL with display name and unique ID Yes (UI or XML) No No
Note: If you don’t know what the URL of the booking engine is, and you represent the property directly, Google may be able to help identify it.

Share your room and property content

Integration Stage: Weeks 5-6

Properties that have comprehensive property and room content on Google perform better with users. In this step, you update the information seen by users on Google, including:

  • Name
  • Lodging category
  • Phone number(s)
  • Description
  • Pictures
  • Amenities
  • Room level information

Share your prices

Integration Stage: Weeks 5-9

Send us your prices to ensure that your potential guests will be able to search for your property’s availability by any date, room type, or occupancy.

Prices include rates for any length of stay, occupancies, rooms, and rate plans for the period your properties are accepting bookings (minimum recommended is the next year). Be sure to include the rate on your landing page, before and after any additional taxes and fees to show to even more users on Google. If you have member, device, or country-specific rates, you can also send those to Google.

How to send us your property rates and availability information:

There are two standards available for connecting via an API. The recommended path for you will depend on your business model and the data you have available.

ARI (Availability, rates, and inventory) - Recommended for all Connectivity partners

This standard is recommended for connectivity partners that have access to nightly rates with restrictions, availability, and inventory. This standard also has dynamic promotions [optional]. Learn how to share your prices using ARI

Pull

This standard is recommended for connectivity partners that don’t have all their prices stored in their system, but have to live fetch them from third party systems. Google will recommend itineraries to cache for all your properties based on their popularity on Google. If you know when all your property prices change but can send only itinerary prices to Google, you could use Changed pricing as an add on. Learn how to share your prices using Pull.
