Antivirus apps listed in Google Play will not recognize 'xhelper' app as a security treat or malware.
Regular Uninstall will not solve an issue as the app will 'reappear' by itself just a few moments after uninstall.
It resembles to RADIOSUL app case which was successfully solved (and banned) by Google Play team.

I installed the Avast anti-virus app on my Android 6.0 smart phone and paid the basic level subscription. This app does identify xhelper as a threat and invites the user to uninstall it. However xhelper regularly reinstalls itself, almost every day! Another really annoying, and worrying threat Avast finds daily is that the "install apps from unknown sources" setting turns itself on. Avast can't stop this happening, but it does sense it and warn me every time it happens, then invite me to go and turn it off again.

Sadly I am plagued by this malware, I guess the moral of the story is don't buy cheap brand phones and only buy top brands or known brands that have been around for years which has activity on XDA Forums at least IMO.

Xhelper is simply irritating . Not able to remove permanently with any malware or antivirus. Software.

I had one that kept running even after I uninstalled it. Would still keep turning itself on. Yesterday I turned off all the cookies, uninstalled it, deleted it. I turned off my wifi, my Bluetooth for many hours and it's not running now. Change your passwords, especially on your lock screen and make them hard. Now I'm looking to run identity theft, extra protection on all my devices. Back in May I was locked out of my phone for a month. It wasn't my password. Now I'm having further problems. Now both my emails will be deleted. Make sure if you have a security lock/password on your phone that it's unlocked. Back up everything. Then do a factory rest. If you should ever get locked out go online. Search unlock code with iinstructions for "example"  Samsung 9..., enter serial#/ime# (all your phone I-information) Follow instruction. When you get back into your phone when you have the opportunity put strong password with all characters on lock screen, delete email account(s), run a quality antivirus, spy spare,....with cleaner, remover, with VPN.  Watch everything close. Any doubt! Change all your passwords immediately, then run your cleaner... you selected. Never repeat using same password on more than I site. Now work on new email  address, be careful with Facebook, social sites scammers will use picture, phone #, of someone you know and it's a scammer. It happened to me. Put them hold then call that person to see if it was really them or not.
