Use Dark theme in your apps

In some apps, you can change the color scheme. Dark theme can be easier to see, and it can save battery on some screens.

Not all apps offer multiple color schemes.

Turn on Dark theme for an app

1. Open the app and find Settings.
2. In the Settings, find “Display” or “Theme” settings.

Tip: If you can’t find them, you might not be able to change the app’s theme. 

Fix issues with apps that show in Dark theme

If your app shows a different color scheme than you expect, it could be because:

• You changed the theme settings for your phone.
• You have battery saver turned on for your phone.
• The app doesn’t offer multiple color schemes.

Important: When you turn on Dark theme for your phone, many apps also use Dark theme.

1. On your phone, open the Settings app.
2. Tap Display.
3. Turn Dark theme on or off.

Turn battery saver on or off

Settings vary by Android device and version. Learn how to check and update your Android version.

1. On your phone, open the Settings app.
2. Tap Battery Battery Saver Turn off now.

Tip: You can't use battery saver in light theme. If you want to use light theme, you need to turn off battery saver.
