Set a budget for your Google Play expenses

You can check and track your Google Play expenses, and set and manage a budget.

Set a budget

You can only set a budget in the currency of your current Google Play country profile. Learn how to change your Google Play country.

Important: Budgets allow you to monitor your expenses and receive alerts when you spend a certain amount. They don’t prohibit transactions when you exceed your budget.

To set a budget:

  1. On your Android device, open the Google Play Store app Google Play.
  2. At the top right, tap your Profile picture.
  3. Tap Payments & subscriptions and then Budget & history.
  4. Tap Set budget.
  5. Enter an amount.
  6. Tap Save.

If you're close to or over your budget, you get a message every time you buy an item from your account.

Tip: Your monthly budget history is stored in your Google Account, but it’s removed after 1 year.
