Devices that are Play Protect certified:
- Include proprietary apps under licence from Google.
- Have passed Android compatibility testing.
Only Play Protect-certified devices are eligible to include Google apps, like the Google Play Store app. If your device isn't Play Protect certified, Google doesn't have a record of the device's Android compatibility test results.
Tips:- Device certification is separate to Google Play Protect, which protects devices from harmful apps. Turning off Google Play Protect will not fix a 'Device is not certified' issue. See below for how to fix the 'Device is not certified' issue.
- Devices that aren't Play Protect certified may not be secure.
- Devices that aren't Play Protect certified may not get Android system updates or app updates.
- Google apps on devices that aren't Play Protect certified aren't licensed and aren't real Google apps.
- Apps and features on devices without Play Protect certification may not work correctly.
- Data on devices without Play Protect certification may not have a secure backup.
Verify your device certification status
- Open the Google Play Store app

- At the top right, tap the profile icon.
- Tap Settings.
- To check if your device is Play Protect certified, tap About.
Check if your device is on the list of certified devices.
If it's not listed: Your device isn't Play Protect certified.
If it's listed: Tap Fix device issue, if this doesn't completely fix the problem, here are some steps that you can take based on the information provided.

| Your device has no network connection | There was a problem with the network connection between the device and Play systems. | Make sure that you're connected to a stable Internet connection by opening your Settings app and visiting Network and Internet or Connections. Your device failed Play Protect certification checks because its bootloader is unlocked. To improve the device security state, you need to lock the bootloader. |

Tip: If your device is certified but fails the fix steps, contact your device manufacturer for a Play Protect-certified device.

- On your device, open the Settings app

- At the bottom, tap Give feedback.
- Enter details about what happened.
- If your issue is with an app: Include the name of the app that you used when you received the error and add the hashtag #appissue.
- If your issue is device related: Include the type of device that you used when you received the error and add the hashtag #deviceintegrity.

If it's not listed: Your device isn't Play Protect certified.
