Use Movies Anywhere with Google Play

You can connect your Google Play account with Movies Anywhere and watch your eligible movies from either account. It doesn't matter if you bought the movies on Google Play or iTunes.

To buy or download using Movies Anywhere, you need to be running Android version 4.1 or up. You can find your current version in the device's Settings menu.

Movies can't be rented on Movies Anywhere.

Connect your Google Play and Movie Anywhere accounts

Fix problems

If your app is called Movies Anywhere:

My Movies Anywhere movies aren't showing in my Google Play account

Make sure you're signed in to the same Google Play account you connected to your Movies Anywhere account:

  1. Open the Google Play Movies & TV Android app Play Movies.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Settings.
  3. Under "Connected Accounts," look for "Movies Anywhere."

Make sure you don't have the "Downloaded Only" option turned on. Here's how to check:

  1. Open the Google Play Movies & TV app Play Movies.
  2. Tap Menu Menu.
  3. If the Downloaded only switch is off, tap it again to see all of your videos.

If you're having trouble playing movies on Google Play Movies & TV, go to our page about problems playing videos.

Movies Anywhere

If you're having trouble playing movies on the Movies Anywhere app:

  1. Try playing the video on Google Play Movies & TV.
  2. If the video works on Google Play Movies & TV, go to Movies Anywhere Support for troubleshooting information. If the video doesn't work on either app, contact Google Play support.
Change or disconnect your Google Play account

You can connect one Google account at a time and switch accounts once every six months. Or you can disconnect your Google Play account entirely. 

  1. Open the Google Play Movies & TV Android app Play Movies.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Settings.
  3. Under "Connected Accounts," tap Movies Anywhere and then Disconnect.
  4. To add a new Google Play account, follow the connecting accounts instructions again.

If your app is called Disney Movies Anywhere:

My Disney Movies Anywhere movies aren't showing in my Google Play account

Make sure you're signed in to the same Google Play account you connected to your Disney Movies Anywhere account:
  1. Open the Google Play Movies & TV Android app Play Movies.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Settings.
