Settings and features in the Play Games app

Learn about privacy settings and features in the Play Games app below.

You'll need to have the Google Play Games app installed in order to access some features. If you're playing a game that needs the Play Games app, and you don’t already have it, we’ll let you know or direct you to the Google Play Store to install it.

Change your privacy settings

On your mobile device

Make your Profile public or private

If your Gamer Profile is public, other players can see your gameplay activity, level and XP. To change your Gamer Profile privacy settings:

  1. Open the Play Games app Play Games.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Settings.
  3. Tap Gamer Profile.
  4. Choose to hide your Profile or make it public.

Note: If your Profile is private, you will appear as Level 1 to other players.

Visibility settings for individual games

On your Google+ Manage apps page, you can control who can see your activity.

On Android TV

Your Game Profile level is a combination of all the XP you've earned. If your Profile is private, you will appear as Level 1 to other players.

On a web browser, go to your Google+ Manage apps page to control who can see your activity.

Find games you've recently played

On your mobile device

To find games you've played recently, open the Play Games app Play Games. Then tap Menu Menu and then My Games. You'll see:

  • All my games: All games you've installed using your current Google Account.
  • Recent games: Games you've played recently on Play Games.
  • Installed: Games currently installed on your device.
    • Note: Some games listed in "All my games" may not be currently installed on your device.
On Android TV

To find games you've installed using your current Google account, open the Play Games app Play Games and select My Profile. Games you've signed into will show here in the order they were last played.

If a game you have installed using your Google account doesn't appear on Android TV, it may not be compatible. Here's how you can check:

  1. On your computer, go to the Google Play Store.
  2. Find the game you want to play.
  3. Click Install or Installed.
  4. Under "Choose a device," look for your Android TV device. If it's greyed out, the game isn't compatible.

View your multiplayer games

On your mobile device

To view your current and past multiplayer games:

  1. Open the Play Games app Play Games.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Matches.

On a game invite or turn, tap More More to see a list of people you're playing with or remove a match.

Find your friends

On your mobile device

To find your friends and see what they may have played recently:

  1. Open the Play Games app Play Games.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Players.
On Android TV

To see what your friends and people who you may know have played recently:

  1. Open the Play Games app Play Games.
  2. Select Players.

Find featured and popular games

On your mobile device

To find featured and popular games that use Play Games:

  1. Open the Play Games app Play Games.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Explore.
  3. Select or search for a game to learn more, see if any of your friends play the game, and download it on Google Play.
On Android TV

To find featured and popular games that use Play Games:

  1. Open the Play Games app Play Games.
  2. Select Find games.
  3. Select or search for a game to learn more, see if any of your friends play the game, and download it on Google Play.
