Read books using multiple devices

When you’re reading on Google Play Books, your page position is automatically saved across your devices when you're connected to a Wi-Fi or a mobile data connection. As long as you’re signed in to the same account, you can pick up reading where you left off using different computers or devices.

If you’re already signed in to an account on Google Play Books, here’s how you can check which account you’re using:

On your computer

  1. Go to Google Play Books (play.google.com/books).
  2. Click your profile icon near the top right of the screen.
  3. Your account will be shown next to your profile picture.
    • To switch accounts, click the avatar icon to select or add a different account.

On your Android device

  1. Open Google Play Books app Google Play Books.
  2. Touch the Google Play Books app Books icon.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Your account will be shown under “Account”.
    • To switch accounts, touch Account to select or add a different account.

On your iOS device

  1. Open Google Play Books app Google Play Books.
  2. Near the bottom of your screen, touch the Settings Settings icon.
  3. Your account will be shown under “Info”.
    • To switch accounts, touch Sign Out, then sign in using a different account.

Troubleshooting

  • If you're reading on several devices at the same time, you may experience a short delay when opening Google Play Books.
  • If your page position doesn't sync to your previous location, try swiping forward or backward on your mobile device or refreshing the page on your computer.
  • Books you've transferred to a device using Adobe Digital Editions won't sync page positions.
