You can read PDF and EPUB documents with Google Play Books. When you upload PDF and EPUB files to Play Books, you can read them on any device that you sign in to.
You can also use bookmarks, highlights and notes with PDF and EPUB documents across your devices. These functions work with PDF documents uploaded after 20 January 2026. Learn more about how to add bookmarks, notes and highlights in an eBook.
Upload files
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Files folder.
- Tap Open with Play Books app.
- Read your content.
Tip: You can upload an EPUB or PDF directly from your email.
