Review your app's revenue & buyer data
Using the Play Console, you can review your app's financial data to see how your sales, managed products, subscriptions, and rewarded products perform over time. Revenue data is based on estimated sales (amounts paid by buyers, including tax).
View financial data
Your financial data is based on the UTC time zone and is refreshed daily. You can view financial data on the Play Console web version or app if you have the "View financial data" permission.
- Open the Play Console app .
- Select an app.
- Tap the "Revenue" card.
Reports on the Play Console web version
Using the web version of your Play Console, you can browse your data using different breakdowns to better understand your app's performance.Overview
On your Overview page, you can see a high-level breakdown of revenue sources, average revenue per paying user (ARPPU), and buyer information.
You'll see revenue and buyers data for the following time periods. Displayed percentages represent the change compared to the previous period.
- Last day
- Last 7 days
- Last 30 days
- Overall (Lifetime)
On the Revenue table, each source that contributes to your total revenue is displayed in a row. Potential revenue sources that don't have any measurable lifetime contribution are hidden. Revenue sources can include:
- Total Revenue: Aggregated revenue from all sources
- App Sales: Revenue generated from the upfront cost of your app on Google Play
- In-app products: Revenue generated from in-app products
- Subscriptions: Revenue generated from recurring subscriptions
- ARPPU: A summary of the average revenue per paying user for the last 30 days
- Avg. value per transaction: The average amount of revenue a transaction generates
The Buyers table displays new and returning buyer data. To see all countries or devices with buyer data, click Show All near the bottom of your country or device list.
Here's how buyers are displayed:
- Total: All buyers who have made a purchase during the time period.
- New: Buyers who have made their first purchase during the time period.
- Returning: Buyers who have made previous purchases and a purchase during the time period.
Note: On the ARPPU tab, countries and devices are ordered by total revenue for the time period. Also, next to "Chart aggregation," you can select 30-day rolling average or Daily average to update the chart for your selected time period.
On your Revenue page, you can see a chart of revenue generated over time.
Near the top of the page, you can filter your data by date range. If you have revenue from more than one country or purchase source, you can also filter by country and purchase source by selecting Add a filter.
Here are the filter options available:
- Date range: Last 30 days, Last 6 months, Last year, Lifetime
- Options may vary because data is only displayed for applicable time periods.
- Country: Countries where your app generated revenue
Note: Because filter availability depends on your app’s revenue data, not all filter combinations are available.
Revenue per product
If your app offers managed products, subscriptions, or rewarded products, look under "Revenue breakdown per product" to see a table of your app's revenue data by individual product that includes:
- Partial refunds
- Impressions: counted when at least 1 pixel of an ad is visible on a device’s screen
- Rewarded events: number of rewarded products claimed by users over your selected period
- eCPM: estimated revenue you receive for every 1,000 ad impressions
- Trend: revenue trend in the last 30 days
Individual product details
To see a detailed chart for an individual product on your Revenue page, click the name of a managed product, subscription, or rewarded product.
Your product’s revenue data will be displayed on a chart. Near the top of the screen, click the tabs and filters to view other dimensions.
Near the bottom left of the chart, the following dimensions are available:
- Device: Buyer's device Marketing Name and Device Name - e.g. Google Nexus 7 (Flo)
- Country: Buyer's country (country data can vary between subscription revenues and subscription statistics)
To add additional data dimensions to the chart, under the chart, check the unchecked boxes next to individual rows.
Export revenue data
App revenue reports are derived from your app's Estimated Sales Reports, which can be exported from the Financial reports page. Bulk exports contain transaction data from all revenue generating apps in CSV format. You can also export your monthly earnings reports from your Financial reports page.
On your Buyers page, you can find more detail about your Buyers and average revenue per paying user (ARPPU). Near the center of your screen, click the tab for the report you want to see.
After selecting Buyers or ARPPU, your data will be displayed on a chart that you can filter by date range or SKU.
- Device: The buyer's device Marketing Name and Device Name - e.g. Google Nexus 7 (Flo)
- Country: The buyer's country
To add additional data dimensions to the chart, click the unchecked boxes next to individual rows near the bottom of your screen.
Using the filters near the top right of your screen, the report can display data for the following time periods. Displayed percentages represent the change compared to the previous period.
- Last day
- Last 7 days
- Last 30 days
On your Conversions page, you can review data to help you understand users’ spending patterns over time with your app.
Near the top of the each chart, you can choose to view data by weekly or monthly cohorts. You can use cohort data to compare spending patterns of users who installed your app during different time periods.
Using the filters near the top right of your screen, you can see data for the following time periods.
- Last 30 days
- Last 6 months
- Last year
Note: Cohort groups are defined by install date in PST. Spending data is updated daily.
On your Conversion rate table, you can see an estimated percentage of users who have purchased an in-app item or subscription since installing your app. This data does not include app sales. You can use this data to understand what percentage of your audience are purchasing items on your app and how recent changes you’ve made affect the conversion of a user to a paying user.
Note: Day 0 represents users who purchased an item on the same day they installed your app. Conversion percentages are cumulative.
Spending per buyer
On your Spending per buyer table, you can see, on average, an estimate of how much users have spent cumulatively since their first purchase in your app. This data does not include app sales. You can use this data to understand how your users’ spending habits change over time and the lifetime value of your paying users.
In cases where an app has a significant number of refunds compared to purchases, spending per buyer data can occasionally go down. This scenario is more likely for new cohorts with limited numbers of buyers.
Tip: If you offer a subscription on your app and see a cohort’s incremental spending getting smaller over time, it may represent users who have cancelled their subscriptions.
Note: Day 0 represents the day users’ made their first purchase on your app. If a current week or month isn’t complete, your data will be incomplete and may change before the end of the month. Spending per buyer amounts are cumulative.
Revenue on the Play Console app
Using the Play Console app, you can get data quickly on how your app is performing.
When you select the Revenue card for an app, you'll see your app's total revenue within the selected time period, along with a revenue breakdown by country. To change the time period at the top of the screen, select the down arrow .
