Change your account information

After creating your account, you may find that you need to change account information or transfer your apps to a different developer account.

Changing your sign-in address or account

For developers with existing applications

Complete the checklist in the Transfer your Application help article to submit an app transfer request.

For developers without any applications

If you are a developer without any published applications, you can create a new account and then Google can cancel the original account and refund the registration fee. To do this:

  1. First, create a new Google Play Developer Console account and pay the $25USD registration fee.
Note: You'll need to change the developer name of your original account slightly if you would like to re-use the name with your new account.
  2. Download or backup any reports or other information you want to keep from the Original Developer account.
  3. Request a cancellation and refund of the original account. Once the refund is processed, you will no longer be able to sign in to your original Google Play Developer Console account.

Changing your location

We cannot change the country for your account. However, you may create a new Google Play Developer Console account with a new corresponding Google Wallet Merchant account using a different email address. When you set-up the Google Wallet Merchant account, please select the appropriate country, and then follow the instructions above to transfer your existing apps to a new Google Play account.

We cannot transfer balances from your current account to a new account. If your current Google Wallet Merchant account has an outstanding balance, we recommend leaving your account open so that the current balance may be paid out.
