Required information

Contact email address

All apps need to have a contact email address listed on their Store Listing page. After you’ve added an email address, it will be available on your app's detail page on Google Play.

Physical address

To comply with consumer protection laws, developers with paid apps or apps with in-app purchases need to add a physical address to their Settings page. After you've added an address, it will be displayed to all users on your app’s detail page on Google Play.

If you have paid apps or apps with in-app purchases, as the seller of that content, it's mandatory to provide a physical address where you can be contacted. If a Developer account with paid apps or apps with in-app purchases doesn't have a physical address on its Settings page, it may result in the account’s apps being suspended from the Play Store.

Change account password

  1. Sign in to your Google Account settings page.
  2. Under "Signing in," select Password.

Transfer apps to a different account

To transfer apps to a different account, you can prepare and request a transfer with our support team.

If you need to transfer a paid app, here are some important things to know:

  • When you transfer an app to an account that uses a different country location, your app's default currency may change.
  • At this time, apps with subscriptions can't be transferred.
Cancel a Developer account

If you haven't published apps and want to cancel a Developer account or transfer all your apps to another account, you can contact our support team.

If you've published apps using your Developer account and want to close your account, you'll need to:

  1. Contact our support team to transfer your apps to another account.
  2. Reply to the app transfer confirmation to close your existing account.

Once you cancel a Developer Console account, you won't be able to use it anymore. If you need to save any information from your existing account, sign in to your original account to backup or download your information before requesting an account cancellation.

Tip: If you create a new account and want to use the same "Developer name" as you used on your existing account, you'll need to sign in to your existing account and change your Developer name to a different name. Developer names can't be identical.

After you've created a new account, you can contact our support team to cancel the account you don't want to use. If your account doesn't have apps, our support team will refund your original $25 registration fee.

Note: If you don't want to recreate your account, you can add another account as a managed user or administrator.
