Choose a developer account type

Choose a personal account if your account is for personal use. For example, if you’re a student, hobbyist, or amateur developer. You can still earn money on Google Play and invite others to join your account.

Choose an organization account if you’re creating an account for an organization or business. For example, if you’re engaged in commercial, industrial, professional, or governmental activities.

You should choose an organization account if you provide any of the following services: 

• Financial products and services, including but not limited to banking, loans, stock trading, investment funds, cryptocurrency software wallets, and cryptocurrency exchanges. Learn more about our Financial Services policy.
• Health apps, such as Medical apps and Human Subjects Research apps. Learn more about Health app categories. 
• Apps approved to use the VpnService class. Learn more about our VPN Service policy.
• Government apps, including apps developed by or on behalf of a government agency. Learn more about requirements for apps that communicate government information.

To create a developer account for an organization, you must have a D-U-N-S number. This is a mandatory requirement when providing developer account information for your organization or business, and is used by Google Play to verify your identity.
