Pixel Watch 2 Assistant intermittently responding to "Hey Google" Command

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with my Google Assistant that I could use some help with since I love the watch but can't enjoy it fully.

The problem I'm encountering is that the Google Assistant seems to intermittently respond to the "Hey Google" command. Sometimes it works perfectly fine, but other times, it fails to detect the command, even when I speak clearly and directly towards the device. This inconsistency occurs over several hours, making it difficult to rely on the Assistant for hands-free tasks consistently.

I've tried troubleshooting by checking for any software updates, ensuring that the microphone is clear and unobstructed, restarting the device, clearing the cache, uninstalling the app, rebooting and formatting the watch... but the issue persists.

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem with their Google Assistant? If so, were you able to find a solution? I would greatly appreciate any advice or insights you can offer to help resolve this issue.

The watch needs to be awake in order to use the hotword. Has it always been the case when you tried issuing the command? Have a look at the article below for more explanations

 Just to add something more, I also tried everything mentioned in this post https://support.google.com/googlepixelwatch/thread/247135979/google-assistant-on-pixel-watch-2-periodically-won-t-react-to-microphone-commands?hl=en but at the end the user on that post got his watch replaced, with no permanent fix to this problem.

It also wouldn't hurt to check to see if there's a software update on the watch available for the Assistant.
