Locked out and can't reset pixel watch

It's not recognizing my unlock pattern and when I try to go into recovery mode to reset the watch to factory default, I get a "no command" screen instead of the debug screen. I can't access the watch from the web or the pixel watch app on my phone.

Here's the fix all. The hard reset option described above works, it's just missing a couple vital steps.
1. Restart the watch. tap quickly on the top left and bottom right of the face when the white G label appears. This will open up the reset menu.
2. Use the scroll button to select the reset option.

This is where things got screwy until you do the below.
Once you get to the prompt that says "No Command".  Do this.

Push in the bezel knob and simultaneously swipe up on the screen (while holding it). This will open up the debug screen. After that (you can let go of the bezel knob) and swipe down to the Factory Reset option. If I remember correctly you simply swipe up to "reboot" and it will work.  Hope that helps.

Hi Tood,

Just want to make sure, are you following the steps explained in the following article? You said that you're not able to access the Pixel Watch app on your phone? Can you explain exactly the issue? Like, what happen if you click on the app? Any error messages?

Reset to factory settings
Important: Google Pixel Watch does not have a physical reset button. Do not insert any items, such as paper clips, into the mic hole on the side of the device as this can damage your watch.
A factory reset will help resolve multiple issues you may encounter in the Google Pixel Watch app including:
  • Forgotten pin or passcode
  • "Something went wrong" error message
To resolve these issues, factory reset your Google Pixel Watch and then reconnect your Google Pixel Watch with your phone.
Tip: After you reset your watch to factory settings, all apps, settings, and data on your watch are erased.
On your phone
  1. On your phone, open the Google Pixel Watch app .
  2. Tap System  Reset and unpair watch.
On your watch
  1. On Google Pixel Watch, swipe down  tap Settings .
  2. Tap System.
  3. Scroll down and tap Disconnect & reset  Ok .
Note: If this does not work, reset through your phone's Google Pixel Watch app.
Reconnect your phone and watch with Set up Google Pixel Watch.

Contact pixel watch support here: https://support.google.com/googlepixelwatch/gethelp
Keep going in the troubleshooting process until you reach the option to call or chat. They should be able to help

I did what Carlos Guana (TheMalibuArtist) suggested and it worked!! It took some practice, but I'm no longer locked out and I set up my watch with a pin instead of a pattern this time. Thanks Carlos!!!

Carlos FTW!!! This nutty watch self selected a pin without me touching anything. I had no idea what it chose so I was immediately locked out. Looks like a big if so many are seeing this

Thanks Carlos, that did the trick! I wish Google tech support knew about this solution. I spent a while with them on the phone & in email back-and-forths & even sent them video of the issue & they never provided this recommendation.

I am officially an idiot. Pixel watch arrives today. I set it up and forget the swipe password. The watch prompts me to reset and I successfully do so with no issues via the app. I set the watch up again and forget the swipe password for a second time as I picked a different one. This time instead of waiting for the watch to prompt me to reset, I go to the app and reset from there. The app gets confused and unlinks from the phone. Now my only option is a hard reset. The watch is only 45 minutes old at this point. I search online and find the original thread that that does not include the final steps to the factory reset and I pretty much convince myself that I bricked my watch, but ultimately get it to boot up again. I finally find this updated thread. The steps involved took me back to my days of DOS prompt commands and floppy disk drives on my old "IBM compatible" PC.  Going into the bios of a brand new device is not my idea of a stress free night, but it worked. Thanks so much for posting the fix. Now I can sleep knowing that I am still an idiot, but at least I have a functioning new watch.

Hi folks,

Thanks for posting in Pixel Wath Community.

I can see here that this has been sorted out. Kudos to @Carlos Gauna (TheMalibuArtist) who shared some steps. That's really helpful!

Also, thanks to our Product Experts for always helping us answer the threads.

Can anyone here confirm if they are still experiencing the same thing after trying the suggested steps? Let us know by responding to this, otherwise we'll lock this thread.

Best,
Princess

I have tried to get the fastboot to come up over and over and it won't work. Is it that difficult to tap in the correct spot?

Hi Steffani Tuttle,

Thanks for responding. How about performing a complete reset? Does it work?

Let us know if there's any progress after performing a complete reset.

I have the same issue where tapping top left and bottom right after the white G appears does nothing.
I have tried this numerous times.
I am not linked to my Pixel7.

Sorry for the delay, here is the video but let me first explain the back story.
I paired the watch to my pixel 6 and did not unpair it before returning it. I then forgot my unlock pattern so now I cannot pair it to my new pixel 7.

Hi Hugo Benoit,

Thanks for updating us. Could you please send us a short video clip of what's happening every time you attempt to perform a reset to your Pixel Watch?
